I have been thinking of moving into motor homes and saw this wonderful add on gumtree
2002 Swift Lifestyle 630l £7,000 obviously to good to be true but then seller replied to an email saying he was posted to Afghanistan and had to sell quickly, so I asked for the CHRIS No and No plate so I could do a check.
He didnt come back with either, but I did manage to piece the No plate together from pictures he had sent HY52 YFP unfortunately this came back as a 2002 green vauxhall so folks keep away from it I have informed the boys in blue
Same type of scam they did a few years ago with a caravan. Again too good to be true. On a airbase in Scotland and would bring it to you. Being posted abroad and needed a quick sell... Was a scam and went on for quite a while.
I was hoping that if anyone had a lifestyle stolen they may see this although the police said they had no stolen vehicle on record so may have been taken from a storage unit and not missed yet
Sounds like a standard scam that gets posted on all sales platforms. I doubt vehicle is stolen. All sorts of variations but all require buyer to be daft enough to pay money before seeing(non existent)vehicle which is just a set of photos lifted from a previous legit listing.
Vehicle is always well underpriced to attract punters but common thread is requirement for payment before even viewing so if it's that you know it's a scam.
a vehicle has obviously had its No plate copied as the one on the van pictures actually belong to a vauxhall Zaffira so their not the brightest scammers on the block
and hopefully some people who didn't know about these scams are now informed
