I wonder if anybody can help.
I'm away on site at mo,when I put my fire on electric it don't matter what wattage, it heats up fine then after about a hour it just goes off. Have to lrave it switched off for a while then it will work again. All works on gas no problem (thank God it's -2 in london). Van is 2011 and it's never been a problem untill now ,I've taken van our for first time this year.

Have got it running at the moment but the fans needs to be run otherwise it will cut out. And not come back on at all. This to me says the element is over heating.??
It sounds to me like it is temperature related, does it take the same time to cut out on every wattage?
Is there a switched fuse supply that is getting warm, possibly interrnally arcing due to poor contact?
Maybe a terminal or PCB connection/crack expanding with heat and cutting out.
Is it getting that hot that the safety overtemp cut-out operates and resets when cool?
A few ideas to look at, good hunting.
