Hi would like some thoughts on this I took my 2015 bailey Pursuit 430/4 to my local bailey dealer for its first service was inform that there was a problem with one of the hubs that the threads had been striped and a new hub would cost me £150 approx Spoke to the   service manager who said they would contact Alko but was not hope full to-day was inform that Alko does not want to know and i will have to fork out for a new hub I think this is a bit steep bailey say its an Alko problem the dealer says its my fault for torquing my wheels i use the recommended settings 135 nuton meters any views

Various torque settings for Alko hub wheel studs according to size. Usual setting I thought for Alloys with M12 was 110nm? If your dealer confirms this figure then he will say you have overtightened to 135nm which is setting for M14 wheel bolts. Yours are M12 I think, 19mm wheelbrace, yes?

You need to confirm correct setting from Bailey or Alko printed paperwork for your specific caravan. There are a number of different settings depending on specific caravan, I think.

My Bailey Pursuit 400-2 Handbook says this.

However, I think alloy wheels are an Extra package fitment, the standard being steel wheels which maybe less than 130Nm.

Before hitching up the vehicle always check
the following:
1. All wheel bolts are tightened to the correct
torque. When fitted with alloy wheels, bolts
should be tightened to a torque of 130Nm
(Newton metres). For the steel spare wheel
supplied with the caravan the wheel bolts
should be tightened to 120Nm.

Have you got alloys or steel.

HI
And why would you tighten the Hub bolt anyway?
And if we are taking about wheel studs, cant they be changed, a lot of axle wheel studs can be. And that dont cost £150 quid

Openspace was spot on
Alko web site states
if the road wheels have been removed, re-tighten all
M12 wheel bolts using a calibrated Torque Wrench to 110Nm
for Alloy Wheels and 88Nm for steel wheels. The wheel bolts
should be tightened in sequence, ie. North, South, East, West
NOT clock or anti-clockwise (refers to steel wheels only).
Remember to over-tighten is just as dangerous as to undertighten,
as this can distort the wheel rims. Avoid the use of
power wrenches.
IMPORTANT
The torque settings should be rechecked after

Then why does the bailey manual say 130Nm? It's a bailey caravan.

Don't forget bailey have changed over to WSL bolts that don't fall out.
