During the warranty period of a caravan are mobile service engineers who are MCEA approved allowed to do a service on your caravan or must it be a dealership every time
One word of caution - many caravan retailers rely on the profit from service work to subsidise the short payment most manufacturers make to them for warranty work.
In my experience if you take your service work elsewhere you will be at the bottom of the priority list when you need warranty repairs and could be waiting months.
Im mcea member but can only do warranty servicing as im also ncc approved.
it is the ncc approval that allows the warranty servicing. Many mcea members are ncc approved mobile workshop. look on the find an engineer page on the mcea site and they will have a qs logo and aws logo if they are approved.

My brother had his permanently sited caravan serviced by a Swift approved mobile engineer, but when it needed work doing under warranty, Swift would not authorise him to do the repair. The engineer was apparently authorised to carry out warranty work for Lunar and Bailey but Swift insisted it was returned to the dealer, causing a lot of hassle and expense for my brother, as he does not tow.

This is true. When we bought our caravan our dealer said this. They are so busy with work they will give priority to their customers. They are not saying they won't do it though but as above, you will be the bottom of the list and warranty work isn't the fastest thing either. We had to have our awning rails replaced and it took about 7 months to get it done. We even took our van to get it done and they then said they had only 1 awning rail in and we're still waiting for the other??????
