Owing to MOH keep sneaking things into the van each time I hook-up, I find that I am now on the upper limits regarding nose weight. As I carry two 6kg Propane bottles I thought I could save a fair bit of weight if I changed to Lightweight gas cylinders. Does anybody know how I could do this without losing the original deposits paid on the two Calor Propane bottles that I now carry. To simply discard these and buy two new lightweight bottles would simply not be cost effective.

If you go to a big depot and swear they had no lights last year when you went to replace and you accepted a standard on the promise of correct cylinder at change time. Someone will be able to authorise. Best do one at a time I suggest😃

You are due a credit on the two cylinders you have and then just get the two new patio gas ones. As long as you are getting 2 cylinders most of my locals would do the change.

I picked up a second hand calor lite cylinder for £10, which saved me a bit on another deposit. Watch out for them on gumtree. You can then sell yours the same way.
Hi' Mitie 1, for many years I only carried the one but a few years ago we ran out TWICE, once in the evening when we wanted gas heat and everyone was closed, and once one morning when half way through preparing breakfast. Ever since then I always carry a spare and sleep much easier lol.

If you use gas lite ex BP know Macgas propane comes in glassfibre bottles and you can see how much liquid gas left in bottle you will need a 27mm push on regulator to connect to your pigtail..£8.50
Two large bottles will weigh 8kgs les than two calorlite bottles.
