Hi all, I am just wondering if anyone can shed some light on a problem I have with a Mixer tap ??

Having got our Avondale out of winter storage last Weekend the kitchen mixer tap would only trickle both hot and cold water ...

We drained the system back down to ensure that there wasn't an air lock but the results were still the same ?

Both the bathroom tap and the shower worked great.

When the kitchen tap was trickling you could here the pump start every 15 seconds or so when the pipe pressure had lowered.

There is no obvious leaks or pipe damage and have removed the protective gauze from the end of the tap to ensure there wasn't any scale.

I have run out of ideas so any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you checked the filter in the tap? End screws off and small mesh filter in there, could be choked with scale limiting flow.

Would it possibly have a microswitch in it and that has failed.

Don't know if this might be of some help.

Most likely the filter on the tap outlet. Unscrew it, clean it and refit.

Some of these taps also have a nylon filter fitted as well as the metal gauze one.... that was the problem with ours last year. I just removed them and all was well - couldn't find any replacements anyway
