Hey All,

Does anyone have the above motor mover? If so wonder if you could help and give some advise.

I cannot for the life of me get the handset to switch on the control unit. I have tried new batteries in the handset, re-pairing the handset to the control unit, i've checked all cables are connected properly. All wires seem to be connected to leisure battery no problem, all fuses are ok and not blown.

Just wondering if anyone else has had issues and what they did to resolve them?

Cheers,
Nick.

OK, I'm not a technical whizz kid, but I have to press the on button twice, in quick succession before the control unit goes into action.

I've had some problems with my handset however you're may be exhibiting very different issues.

Mine stopped working after working intermittently for some weeks. No lights when I pressed power and no sound of the relays clicking when it paired with the control box. The only sign of life from the handset was the LED would flash two or three times when I put the batteries in. I sent it to a chap who fixes remotes, he found that some of the circuit had come away and needed replacing. The handset now appears to work perfectly although I've not had chance to take it to the van yet to make sure everything is in perfect working order.

take a look at the link http://www.remotefixer.co.uk/rf1633.html to see the fix on my handset.

Hope this helps.

As fgb 54 said , I found that there's a knack to actually turning on the handset, also it switches off after 30 seconds

Double tapping the power button does nothing to switch the control unit. It may switch on once every 25-30 times i try it.

Thanks for the link Median, how long did the repair take once you sent it off?

It may well be that the power on/off button is defective and needs replacing. I have had similar problems with my computer mouse and C-Tec battery charger, the momentary switch just collapsed. Getting a suitable replacement is the difficult part, however an external one hard wired and located in another position could work.

It was very quick, fixed and returned the day it was received.

Mine was connecting but disconnecting every few seconds before it failed altogether. I was very pleased with the service from 'remote fixer', I rang him up before sending the handset off, he was very helpful and you only pay postage if he doesn't manage to fix it. Certainly worth giving him a ring.
