Hi there everyone , been reading some of the security ideas for vans and one was your postcode on roof of van , is that just the identification letters you can get for the refuse bins ? It's quite an efective security idea if you want van back after theft
Its tells anyone that looks up your postcode that you are not at home. You only need to stand on a bridge and note the postcode down. It possibly would not take long to work out which house was empty.
I think a better alternative would be to put your car registration number on the roof, then if it did not match the number of the van/towing vehicle it would obvious that it was stolen.
If any caravan thief caught on to the idea of identification from an ariel view such as from a Police helicopter they would be well prepared in advance. If a thief can cut through steel chains, a wheel clamp and a hitchlock, I'm sure it wouldn't take much to temporarily cover up any roof stickers and remove them from the roof in due course.
