This is what happened on our weekend away at 3 am Sunday morning, we were first on scene after being woken up by an explosion in a static van about 30 meters from our tourer, Jayne kept people back and I tried to see if anyone was in the caravan by knocking on Windows, getting no response, made sure gas was off to the van and we made sure the vans near were evacuated, fire crew arrived about 10 mins later, we were all wondering who was in the van hoping no children, but being on a family site it was truly frightening, fire crew carried a body out and paramedics worked on him, we was told that they managed to resuscitate him and got him to hospital,
Sadly just read the link and the man has passed away, this is a truly horrific accident that has ended so sadly, R.I.P chap,
We must say that park resorts were fantastic in the way they delt with matters and in no way we feel that they are to blame and this will not stop us from going to such a lovely site...............
So sad. It puts a damper on your weekend away as your thoughts are with the person concerned and his family.
We were close to a caravan last year when a gentleman had a heart attack and passed away.We felt so sorry for his wife and family who had to pick up his caravan and car.
I was on site last Friday, when walking the dog, I heard an alarm and a caravan had a fire that had started on the cooker hob. The owners were out walking their dog, after running to the wardens caravan, they managed to get in and put it out. It was very frightening, just thinking how fast this thing could have accelerated had it not benn spotted.
