Hi folks, I'm new to this caravanning thing, always camped either, standard tent or recently a trailer tent. We sold our trailer tent in the hope of finding a caravan, spent lots of time looking out there, only to find rotten rubbish at my price level. Well we finally found something that I thought was worth it, old couple who had a 1993 Fleetwood crystal 148-4. Looked tidy but the window had been replaced with one a slightly different shade, it had got damp in there and the wallboard needs replaced. The rest was in fantastic condition, well I thought it was, until 3yr old ripped part of the curtain rail off the back of the caravan wall. Turns out that it is rotten just above the window but the wallboard is pretty sound. What should I do? and how should I do it? Im not scared of doing some work on it myself. The wood seems to be rotten but dry! as it just crumbles. I suspect that a small hairline crack in the rear plastic body, just above the window is the culprit, but how would I repair that? As I'm new to this I hope that you guys can guide me along the path to happy caravan ownership..... Thanks in advance of your advice and help.
