Hi all
I have purchased the small Cadac Safari Chef 2 low pressure gas barbecue to connect direct to the caravan external gas outlet.
I have ordered 3 meters of hose to cut down and use but would like to keep it as long as possible to keep the barbecue away from being to close to the awning (hearing mind the gas outlet is close to the awning channel at the front if the van).
Dies anyone know the maximum length hose I can use without reducing the barbecues effiency?
Thanks
Our Cadac arrived yesterday and the manual says 1.5m max. I tested with a 2m hose and that gives enough room for us without being too close to the 'van.
Ours came with propane regulator and black thick wall rubber pipe, thicker than red plpe and instructions how to connect to van barbecue point if one fitted.
Total length including regulator 3.4metres. Which would make pipe alone 3.2 metres there about.
The instructions stated to use barbie at full length of pipe from awning or van and never inside awning and use wind break to stop wind blowing possible sparks onto awning if necessary.
I don't think it is physical problems with drop in pressure or anything. More to do with mechanical protection for the pipe to try and make sure you don't have a gas leak. Obviously metal pipe will be much more robust than rubber.
