That was my thoughts as well as thieves are normally attracted to caravans with a high value and usually looking for a particular brand for someone that they can sell on immediately.
Not always the case though. My last caravan was stolen, and it wasn't worth more than £200 at the time, back in 1989. It was a 1966 Sprite Musketeer.
No it wasn't the site owners, they were surprised as us. We will see what the engineer says tomorrow and his opinion though it doesn't change the situation that it's going to cost us money sadly.

What about the other caravaners who had needed to move it ?
If you had a wheel lock on it and a hitch lock they must have had quite a struggle to get it sideways.

Someone that knows what they are doing can steal a caravan fairly easily, all the security features we have are to try and put of the "have a go" thieves. I've seen a video on Youtube showing a caravan being nicked in about five minutes, and it had all the security including a thick metal post in front of it.
I think its more likely to be someone caught your van with theirs or with their car. Or maybe they thought you were too far onto their space and moved it forcefully whilst "accidently" causing damage to your cover etc.
Grampian91 that does not explain the deep gouges either side of the hitch does it. Were we are situated there is only one other caravan next to us which doesn't move. So no there was no need for anyone to move it. Anyway we will see tomorrow what the engineers thinks.
