Our Compass reflection 360 bathroom folding sink is not draining, infact water builds up and leaks from the bottom sides of the van. I have removed the sink but theer is no obvious blockage just proof of water build up in the reservoir. Can any one help us. It is a new problem after some time in store. Thank you. Thank you for replying but the shower tray empties through the same outlet and thats running ok. Also the actual fitting for the waste pipe is very small, also we do not have any nasty smells. Regards Clifford J.
The shower tray drain and sink drain must be separate to begin with; then they will join and run through a single pipe to the waste outlet. The join will be a Y or T piece
The blockage must be in the section of pipe between the sink reservoir and the Y ot T piece.
The pipe and join etc will most likely be underneath the caravan.
Probably soap build-up and hairs etc., can you try poking a piece of flexible wire gently down the pipe? It may give you a clue where to start looking or move the offending obstruction.

Thank you all but there seems to be only one pipe coming out of the van but I will check again. At the bottom of the fold up sink reservoir there is a small screw in drain hole with a cross piece for filtering. I have unscrewed that but cannot screw it in again. Maybe there was a pipe attached to it?? so the plot thickens. I have written to Eldiss who now own Compass but no reply yet. All comments are well appreciated.
There may be only one waste pipe that can be visually seen at the rear of the caravan but both the shower and the wash basin have an independent drain pipe which meet up at some point either by a 'Y' joint or 'T' joint as previously mentioned. The shower drainage has a free run of water so the blockage must be between the wash basin drain pipe to the 'Y' or 'T' connection. If the wash basin is the 'tip up' type then the water drains into a 'V' groove which is directed to the drain pipe and is not easily accessible. To remove the blockage it may be best to back flush the drain system so you need to put the shower drain plug in and secure it down then put a hose pipe at the drain outlet and see if the debris will push backwards up into the wash basin drain. It will be a job required by two people, one in control of the hose pipe whilst the other keeping watch at the wash basin but once the blockage is dislodged you will immediately need to remove the hose pipe to avoid a flood.
Thank you for your advice and we will try this hose method. But the screw in plug hole unit is still puzzling me as although it has a thread it will not tighten. Maybe there was a pipe underneath that moved when I unscrewed the small unit at the bottom of the sink reservoir.Thank you for all members advice and help. Clifford & Jeanette
I don't think this will help in your case, but a long piece of curtain wire usually does the trick if the blockage isn't too bad... another way to clean it out is to put a few teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda in the plughole, then wash it down with vinegar, it fizzes and cleans all the way.
