Yes because there's too much to remember and would definitely forget something. A few years ago we went on holiday to Great Yarmouth and because the day of departure was a hot sunny day I forgot to take a warm coat with me. However, the weather changed and went bitterly cold so had to go to the market and buy a new coat which came out of our spending funds so since then I make a list so I don't forget anything.
Take everything you think you will possibly need. After a few trips you will see what you don't use & then leave all those items behind for subsequent trips.
with tenting where I have to unload the car after a trip stuff gets sorted into 3 piles, stuff that was used, stuff that would have been used of the weather was different and the why the feckk did I take this?? the 3rd pile gets left behind
with the caravan I tend to do the same thing, but as aa lot of kit stays in the van it just gets dumped in the garage, every kilo uses fuel and it is pointless carrying excess weight. I still instead of carrying full bottles of bog fluid just take what I know I will need. like a weekend means 1 dose, a week 2 etc. that can b 5kg saved. plus if i know there is a supermarket close by I wait and get food and beer there as a shopping can be 20kg plus
