Hi guys
Due to an extremely heavy workload I have just managed 5 nights away in our 'van.We bought it almost 12 months away as a pre retirement/post Redundancy present, but circumstances took over.we picked 'van up on the Friday had a weekend away with it in July '15,the next trip was 12 nights in Angelsey September '15 then nothing till last weekend 5 nights near to Skegness a total of 17 nights. What I'd like to know is who has done the most nights away since July last year and who, if any has done less than me.
Like yourself, work commitments mostly have curtailed my trips away this year. Just back from only my second 4 night break this year. Going to try and get another short break in August. Mind you this trip proved to be an expensive one as I ended up buying a new caravan, well a 2009 model anyway.
167 nights ish...
I used to get 2 weeks away on a plane and the odd weekend in the van.
Packing my job in and buying a motorhome was the best thing I've ever done.
You're dead before you're born, and you're dead after you die, so try and enjoy the bit in the middle.
Lots, not sure how many. We go away for the odd week or fortnight every couple of weeks, last year until November plus a fortnight over Christmas/New Year and started again in January. One longer trip to Cornwall planned for September, going to Somerset for a fortnight on Sunday.
5 nights New Year.. and two nights away since.. and they were separate occasions.
At the moment Mondays are the only days off work (self employed) , so we now hitch up the van go for a tour about, stop overnight somewhere not too far.
Take the van back to the storage yard then back to work late Tuesday morning.
Was thinking of selling but I know we'd regret it.
only 20 and 4 more from tomorrow.
Am lucky with work as i have to do 1 in 5 weekends. So get Mon before and Friday after of , giving me to long weekends. If it's not persiting down lol
About twenty here. I work Saturday and Monday mornings so not much in the way of short break possibilities without using up annual leave/taking it unpaid. On the bright side we can get to the sea or Dartmoor or Exmoor for a day trip easily enough.
In a way this is a question that be split by answer to those that have retired/finished work and have more time to get away and then for those that still work and find getting away much more awkward. I've a few more years to go yet, but not that many, and I'm looking forward to being able to get away more frequently.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
