Hi,

We've recently purchased our first caravan not had the pleasure of going away in it just yet.

We took it for a tow at the weekend - first time tower and lost a towing mirror, we went back to pick it up but someone beat us to it

Anyway, our van is in storage and it's a pretty small plot so winding up/down the steadies is a little awkward to say the least.

I've looked online can find the leg steady drill attachment from caravan accessorie stores, but they are all a foot long, add a drill and the overall length is not far off 2 foot which is too long.

Does anyone know where I can source a shorter drill attachment?

Thanks

Just cut it down with a hacksaw. That's what my OH did.

I have the reverse problem ... the front steadies nut is so far recessed, the extension on the drill won't reach it ... anyone got any ideas on that?

get a cheapo leg brace, cut the straight bit off and get a local engineering shop to turn a few inches at the end down to 10mm diameter

Thanks, Morepints! Didn't know there was a 20" version! Got one slightly cheaper than Amazon one ... problem solved!
