I'm currently sitting on a pitch in the Loire Valley, watching a French family in frank amazement.
Their 'van is an old Caravelair 4 berth, but with more gear stowed than the average removals van could carry. They arrived yesterday and pitching took a good hour - no awning, but first emptying the van and then jacking it up on its levels as hard as the guy could manage without a hernia.
Have been out for the day today, but came back and settled in with my friends G & T, to see him raising the levels even more until the wheels were completely off the ground, then removing the wheels!
Called OH to point this out, but then caravan door opened and his wife and three teenage kids came out, they'd been in the caravan all along!
As I write the wheels are back on, but not touching the ground, neither is jockey wheel. These old caravans must be built out of girders or something; think I want one.
