Hi all we have recently been asking questions about our whale watermaster system I have just had another engineer out and this time he thinks it could be a problem with 1 of the valves ie electrical problem as we have direct water from the mains to the caravan he says if I turn my tap on the pump should not turn on is there anyone that can clarify this?I mean if u are at home and u turn your tap on u don't have a pump the water comes direct from the mains surely it's the same principle.
The domestic mains water supply at home is fed through copper piping and connected by either soldered or compression joints to withstand the high water pressure. The piping in a caravan is made from plastic with different types of fitting so if you have the same pressure direct it would blow the joints and your caravan would be like a swimming pool. That's why it's fed by a pump with a specific flow rate.
Thanks so your telling me that the pump should turn on?have you any idea what I can do to stop the pump running over when I close my taps people have been saying about pressure switches but there are none in my van
What is a Whale Watermaster system exactly, is it a system with an onboard water tank and internal pump or an external pump into a water barrel outside?
You see, I'm not familiar with this set up at all so can't offer any further advice unfortunately. My post was mainly to explain about the water piping as you thought the direct pressure in to a caravan was based on the same principle as the domestic mains pressure at home.
I just fill up with a hose from the nearest water point ... then the pumps only operate if a tap is turned on ... which seems to contradict what your engineer said?
