I've just purchased our first caravan, stepping up from camping n would like any Recommendations for caravan security for compass omega 524,as insurance firms ask the questions.Was thinking Hitch lock n wheel clamp would this suffice?

Usually they want a hitch lock and wheelclamp, but it depends where its stored and your budget.

Decent locks are not cheap, what you need to think is how would you remove it if you lost a key. Think destructive removal as long as it can be towed away afterwards.

If its at home then a steel post into the ground with a towball welded to it and a hitch lock to that will provide the best security, otherwise hitch locks are easily overcome.

I have a Alko hitch lock and Milenco wheel clamp, agreed with insurance company when in storage. Also has a fitted alarm with a rear corner steady sensor to alarm as standard.

Just be sure to purchase the right type of hitchlock and clamp. Some Compass Omegas have Alko hitches/chassis, some Winterhoff/BPW.

I have both hitch locks bulldog and the winterhoff one that cost new £130 and to bulldog wheel clamps
