Thanks you all for the information.
After looking around and researching a lot!!! I decided to up my budget and purchers 2013 Bailey Ancona 6 berth. I am picking it up next week and can't wait to get started. As its first time I still have a few Q's .
* insurance ( caravan )who to use and do safety devices lower the cost like the alko ones?
* Is it worth joining a club? If so what one?
*Storage with or without out a cover?

Thanks again.

I am a member of the C&CC, an use their insurance. Others will have other ideas I'm sure. I think joining a club can have advantages, but if you never or rarely use their sites, probably not. I have never covered any of my caravans.

Best Regards,
Colin

Congratulations on getting your van.
We use cover 4 caravans, we have new for old, don`t forget to add on things like motor mover(if you have one) gas bottles, leisure battery etc, all cost to replace.

We are members of cc but have decided not to renew this year, have never been able to get on one of their sites.

Keep our van at home and have never used a cover, although with it being outside we do open it up on a nice day, often with a cup of tea to just sit in it and pretend I am far away from the madding crowd.

We bought ours off ebay. If I'd read the posts on here beforehand we wouldn't have touched it. It was a divorce settlement and they wanted the finanace covering. It was a bargain. We went to their house to see it and bought it. There were loads of extras it was five years old and looked new. We won the bid and it was a bargain. We got it serviced and there was damp, we got it professionally repaired and it was still cheaper than a dealer van which we nearly bought. We were very very lucky.

I've just said to hubby that we are going to run it till it falls apart because I am scared of buying again. Dealer's get a bad press, private are a no no and I don't think we'd ever be as lucky
