We've just bought a second hand major 6td. We were between two caravans that were identical but chose the one that was slightly cheaper with a mover and alarm. The caravan we rejected didn't have a mover and to add one made it more expensive overall, plus it had a few scratches on the interior woodwork.
After signing the documents, we went back to have a last look and I noticed there are two small dings on the bodywork. Now I'm wondering if we've made the wrong decision? There was a couple of other cosmetic problems inside which the dealer said they would fix but they can't do anything about the dents. Are dents really common? Will they cause any problems or effect the resale value? Or are we likely to make another dent ourselves and should just forget about them? Thanks

Aluminium sides do dent easily unfortunately, and many vans eventually have a couple, often from awning frame assembly. Some more recent vans have GRP or polyester side which are more resistant and said to be easier to repair.

If they are only minor I wouldn't worry. If they are very obvious or going to annoy you look elsewhere-there's always another van out there

As Chris has said, nothing to worry about. Not sure how old your van is, but there are very few aluminium sided vans out there without dents.

I have about 8 on mine, the worse one is a dent/scratch now covered by a nice stick on Lizard.

Enjoy your van. 😀👍

Hi,
As all above have said dings not holes are fine.
In fact nothing worse than being the first to put a dent in a van, if you have some already it doesn't seem as bad somehow.
As Mike pointed out, if they bother you put a decal on them.
Enjoy your new van.
Regards,
Greg
