Depends on whether it a single or twin axle.
Single axle caravans require commercial tyres (over a specific weight) but twin axle caravans can have standard car tyres fitted.
You need to check the caravans gross weight and then use the tyre load rating to purchase the correct tyre.
ie 1300kg van, Split that into 2 tyres = 650kg each. Add a safety margin say 100kg per tyre. You need a tyre with a load rating exceeding 750kg. Which would be a load rating of 98.
The absolute minimum would be 650kg thats a load rating of 93.
Go for something midway 95/96? It also depends on the tyre size and whats available in that size.

Can you clarify this? I have never heard of this distinction being made between single and twin axle vans.
To best of my knowledge, its the load index only that matters - if this is chosen correctly, then the tyre will of course be constructed to carry the appropriate weight, in which case selecting an even heavier construction is quite unnecessary. A commercial tyre will also flex less at the sidewall, which then imparts a harsher ride to the van, doing no favours to its construction and contents.
It should be remembered that although the caravan has its rubber suspension, the ability of the tyres to flex also contributes to the suspension. From time to time there are reports of vans suffering severe damage in the form of creased body panels, from road surface problems, so it makes sense to minimise these as far as possible
You are just picking holes in Tango's rather too generalised post Chris. Tango is broadly correct. Car tyres are of sufficient load rating for any touring twin axle & any caravan over about a tonne will probably need commercial van tyres to achieve sufficient load rating. You are of course correct that all that is required of caravan tyres is that load rating is adequate for loaded caravan whether van tyres or car tyres.
No intention to pick holes at all - more to provide relevant information to the OP as to why van/commercial/re-inforced tyres are not necessary, and may indeed be detrimental.
Stating that a van over a tonne will need such tyres is I'm afraid, another generalised statement that isn't valid.
My van is 1900Kg supplied with new standard car tyres at second hand purchase, by a major dealer.
Ye gods Chris. Profuse apologies for not pointing out that any single axle caravan over a tonne will probably need van tyres & any twin axle tourer. Note I said tourer & not some mighty showman's living 'van. Can use car tyres.
