We on holiday at the moment hubby went to use the microwave it worked for a couple of seconds then stopped nowt working,it didn't blow the electrics in the van or the campsite checked the fuse box in caravan and all ok does anybody know what it could be why it's not working
Apart from checking the fuse in the plug top I would say you have done all that is reasonably practical.
There are several internal electronic components that can fail and it is often a case of biting the bullet and buying a new one!
A repair can be more expensive than a replacement!

Unless it's the ceramic fuse inside the micro. Check with tester and if blown they are not expensive to buy. A couple of quid from memory but google it.
Hi saxo thanks for the reply, didn't check the microwave plug cause we don't know how to get the microwave out of the cupboard it's a fitted into it seems to be screwed/bolted down some how will i have to contact swift to buy a new one

Thanks oxter where will ceramic fuse be located
You'll need to get the machine out first. Usually a plastic shroud around the micro which pulls out - might need a good tug but check there are no screws through from adjacent cupboards.

Our plug is in the top of the cupboard next to the microwave - Ace Award but manufactured by Swift.
Just a word of warning,I never mentioned the internal fuse because if you start dismantling the m/wave you should take care that, even if it is switched off, you can get a serious shock from the capacitor (up to 5000 Volts) unless the capacitor is discharged.

Swifts tend to have a panel across the top of the MW that can be pulled off as it is retained with magnetic catches at each end.
This may reveal the mains plug and socket, so check the fuse in this plug.
The MW button feet may locate in holes in metal brackets which stop it sliding about, with a slide in wood panel across the top to stop up/down movement.
If its a Sanyo, then no chance of a direct replacement I'm afraid, as they were taken over by Panasonic, and so no longer available. I believe there is a Russell Hobbs model that some have fitted as a close fit.
hi we have looked at the microwave and its broke,chrisn7 it is the sanyo microwave and while we were looking on the internet at which microwave to try and get a close fit some people have said the Russell hobbs RHM1714B model one should be ok so ive ordered one from Tesco for £60,sounds like the same one that you said, thanks again for everyones help
