popped into a local camping equipment store over the weekend ,one where a relation of mine works ,we were chatting about the kango air awnings when i put my hand out to feel one of the supports ,it was metal wondering what was going on i had to ask .
the answer was ,a customer had bought one of the top of the range air awnings a few days previously ,and decided to have a barbecue INSIDE the awning with the barbecue resting against the air beam .apparently the resulting whoosh of air as it exploded was quiet spectacular .
he then came back into the shop complaining about a poor quality product ,after he was proven to be lying simply by the stench of charcoal from the tube and admitted to what he had done ,they were kind enough to take a tube out of the display model for him .hence the metal temporary replacement .
Wow, a popped air beam could have been the least of their worries with so many sad cases of Carbon Monoxide poisoning deaths recently. Please everyone, keep barbecues out of awnings and tents!
