Why do kids and parents think it is OK to walk across your pitch to get to the playground!!?? Or anywhere else really. This really narks me as I paid to rent that pitch for me, and they go running close to my car and through guy ropes and all obstacles I try and put in the way to stop them. Even some went whilst I was sitting out. Please, can I start this thread just to point out to anyone reading this who doesn't know-use the campsite footpaths that are about and don't walk over other people's pitches as it's not nice and bet you wouldn't own up to breaking something if you trip over my guys ropes. Just stop people, please. I know a lot who read this will have experienced this too and u have my sympathy on this.

We are in Spain at the moment and we are regarded as strange to be moaning about the miserable children, their teenage siblings and subsequently their parents, as they traipse between our table where we are eating and the caravan.

It's fair to say that it's never an issue in France or Spain at the sites I use. I've no objection to other campers on my pitch provided they are friendly. I think it's a particularly Brit thing.

The subject's been done to death... and still some folk need educating in good manners!

Most on here seem to agree with the OP on this subject. A few seem to want to advocate patience and toleration.

For pitch corners, I might just side with the latter, but when it comes to folk walking between cars and units, or heaven forbid tables and chairs, I am very much with those that get somewhat riled by such gross impudence... or I would be if and when it happens to me, which it hasn't so far... touch wood!

Some years ago, at a site in Northern France, the next pitch was occupied by two Italian motorhomes. One morning, while having breakfast, we were subjected to the sight of two of their children cleaning their teeth on our pitch, in front of our 'van. This included the rinsing and spitting out! Some time later I watched as the father rinsed out his chemical toilet in the dishwashing sink. Fortunately he had emptied it into the toilet first.

I remember once being sat in our tent, and a couple of people decided to walk between our tent and the hedge behind. No idea why, because it wasn't a short cut anywhere, can't have been easier than going round. But while they were doing it, one of them (unsurprisingly) fell over the guy ropes. And then moaned about how we'd put them so close to the hedge. I couldn't help but have a bit of a giggle about that one!

Kids I'm a lot more patient with. I have two of my own and I swear I tell them about this issue at least ten times a day. And I also have to drag one of them off other people's pitches at least that many times! He has absolutely no sense of personal space, or social rules or anything. So if we are on a site with you, I do apologise. (I tend to try to tell our neighbours about him before he does anything so that they are forewarned.)

What's wrong with Manorafon Farm in Abergele. We're thinking of going there soon.

Well put it this way. We have been to numerous campsites over the years with no serious issues to complain about but after going to Manorafon Farm 2 years ago we had kids playing football on the next vacant pitch which the ball hit our awning several times. Numerous rowdy kids at 10-o-clock at night were racing past between our car and caravan all over the field whilst the drunker parents (who were all tent campers) couldn't give a hoot. A young couple two pitches away who had booked for 4 nights with a small child couldn't get the child off to sleep at night due to the excessive disturbance from the kids and made a complaint the next day to the site owners. They left on the second night as they had just about had enough but if you look at the ratings on the Campsite Reviews it's actually rated as 9 stars.
We must have gone at the wrong week at the wrong time of year but as the old saying goes....once bitten twice shy so I wouldn't entertain going back there even if it was free.

How true.
It is a lot easier to tell a kid to go forth and multiply.
Adults are more difficult and I have found it is adults who are the worst for using shortcuts.
