We have put our van on a farm field storage area & paid for the year. The ground is soft and we are concerned that the wheels are going to sink in particularly after rain. Some of the other van owners on the field have laid hardcore or bricks but we really don't want to spend much money to improve the standing area. So we wondered if anyone had a solution if maybe you've been in similar position.
Thanks in advance.
The cheapest option is to lay two lines of concrete slabs as these should stop the caravan wheels sinking into the soft ground although in time the slabs do become uneven. That's what caravan owners did on a previous storage site that we used but we eventually changed to a Cassoa secured site after 12 months because I got fed up of being towed out of the mud with the farm tractor. That problem was immediately solved being stored on a proper designated storage facility with a hardstanding surface.
Well you've paid now, but I would look for a proper storage facility for next year. Apart from sinking in the mud, you'll be traipsing the stuff into your car and van too, which will get annoying.
You might need to watch out for mice on a farm site too. The little bleeders can do a lot of damage
