We are having a talk about which way you should pull blinds up and down. Using the aluminium bars I would normally just do it from the centre but OH says should do it from edges using both hands, which he does as says put less strain on the mechanism. We have the concertina type. Which way do you do it.

Hi,
I can understand where your husband is coming from, not sure of the age of the blinds but without doubt as they age they definitely get flimsier.
A van we had many years ago, every time you opened the blinds the blinds would part a little more from the rail and also brittle plastic parts start breaking.
If they are modern however, should be OK to use the central aluminium bar as the pull will still be equal albeit from the middle
As with all things mechanical, play it by ear.
Regards,
Greg
