I'm looking for ideas and suggestions, tips and lots of lovely pics for ideas of ways you have personalised your caravans inside.

I was advised not to change seat covers and colours etc on my first van as apparently this lowers the resale price, but we'll be keeping this van for a good few years and I want to make it our own without spending a fortune - but interior design is just not my thing. Throws and cushions are about my limit for ideas.

So - what have you done to personalise your caravans please?

Hoping to buy an old van next week. I have great plans to change it. I'm going to paint all the walls cream simply as I have a load of spare paint in that colour and it needs brightening up. I plan to paint all the pine coloured interior pale gray. Navy blue curtains, blue and white striped fabric to cover the seat cushions and then busting and scatter cushions in various nautical fabric

A friend of ours has done a brilliant job of sprucing up his old van, the cupboards have all been painted grey, the walls (once damp had been removed) papered with a white/grey board effect wall paper, new carpet at the front with vinyl floor in kitchen/door area, the heater was removed and spray painted also grey and curtains replaced, he was lucky that the seats were in good condition so has just scrubbed them up, the ceiling got a lick of white paint and the van looks great.
You can get sticky back vinyl covering in a vast variety of colours and designs which can be ideal for kitchen walls etc as you can wipe it down with a damp cloth.
My advice is to find something for inspiration and just go with it, don't be afraid to make changes, the satisfaction you get from having your holidays in your very own work of art is amazing.
Good luck and enjoy.

This is a dodgy area ! If it's a keeper then yes no problems ! If in a years time you wont to upgrade then NO ! Decorated caravans are a NO go area for me (been there done that & SCRAPED it)
The FIRST thing that would go thru my head would be WHAT are you trying to HIDE ?
There is nothing like an honest van were you can see ALL it's IMPERFECTIONS & faults & IF your into DIY that can't be fixed without slapping wall paper & paint all over it !
JUST my view , Others are available

If I get this van its 30 years old. It's not really worth a lot anyway. I plan to have fun with it but if I do decide to upgrade well it's not worth much now anyway
