anybody got a safefill in there caravan and what size do you use, i use about 1.5 calor lite bottles a year at mo.
would i be best buying the 7.5kg medium?
was looking at the 5kg to save a bit of noise weight but was worried they was on the small side height wise.
any help would be great thanks
I too am interested in Safefill. What's the situation regarding filling up. Last time I investigated I was disappointed that there appeared to be a bias against them (the bottles) at filling stations.
I did investigate this, and found that in my area there were only 3 places where I could refill these types of cylinder. Two of these were Shell, so I contacted them as what their policy is for caravans.
Essentially, this follows what is currently allowable in the UK - if the cylinder is permanently plumbed in, with a fixed filler cap, as in lpg cars, or motorhomes, then you are ok. If the cylinder is removed i.e. separated from the caravan for filling then this is not allowed.
So, unless the cylinder is going to be plumbed in to your caravan with a built in filler nozzle its a no-go.
I have heard that some people fill the cylinder the sneaky way out of sight, so its a done deal, but I guess the regs are there for a reason so this approach is dubious.

yes what size bottle do you have boff
I've got an original red safefill bottle, I think it is 7.2kg. I go through a lot of gas as we go off ehu a lot so for me it is definitely worth it but I am not to sure if I only used ~9kg per year.
I have been using calor lite for some years to keep my nose weight down. Seeing as it's being discontinued i was going to go down this route as I was always taking a part bottle back with calor for exchange maybe the 5kg bottle would be better for me?
May be look at Gas light. TBH it looks like the same bottle as the safefil.
Don't get me wrong safefil is an excellent system and save me lots, but I went through more gas in four nights at New year than you say you use in a year.
