Just assuming you did pull into the hgv pumps(and probably park like a dogs hind-leg)-you would have to go and stand in the queue to present your method of payment(pet-hate of most truckers) before you return to your outfit to take your 50 or so litres of fuel (whilst the other half takes the dog for a cr*p on the small grass verge nearby)and then stand in the queue again to pay for your fuel. You would probably need to visit the "restroom"and browse the 2 for 1 offers on crisps and chocolate bars whilst you were there. And all this time the queue of hgv,s would be getting longer and probably stretching out of the forecourt or up the hard shoulder.
It wouldnt surprise me if a trucker parked about 1 inch from your drivers door(either door really) and made you wait whilst they went through exactly the same routine! Truckers are all up against the clock...and any time lost due to such actions is hard to stomach. There isnt a lot of respect for caravanners in the trucking world...blocking their designated fuel pumps wont do much to help!
Already pointed out that HGV fuel nozzle will not fit, so that's a few minutes lost.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I just use the normal pump. I have never had a problem with access. I tow a Swift conqueror 480 with a VW Tiquan. I just take care when approaching or leaving the pumps.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
