Hi all - all set to start looking for a van but the misses came home yesterday very dispondant after a conversation with a woman she works with. She wasn't told numbers but to quote her friend, they "had no choice in the end but to get rid of the caravan, as the storage charges were just crippling!
Haven' t looked into it properly yet, but what are people paying for caravan storage and what do you get for your money? Is this a case of lots of hidden charges?
I was thinking no more than a tenner a week for a 5 berth? Is this reasonable or am I kidding myself?
If you only store it in a compound but not able to use it £1 per day is normal. But if you want to site so you can use it part of the year anything around £2000 plus or minus depending on how popular the area is.
As well is two words!

Ours is £350 per year for a CASSOA 'silver' standard secure yard. We have a key to the gates and 24-hour access. There are no other charges, hidden or otherwise.
I think it depends on where you live. We are in Bucks and pay £45 a month, CASSOA gold. Had to wait for a year for this and no other near us so no option.
We pay £335 for a year on a very secure CASSOA site with an adjoining CL, which is very useful. It's also possible to have it serviced, washed etc while in storage.

Mines just over £200 a year, farm with CCTV, 2 locked gates to pass through. Fairly flexible if you need to leave early arrive back late etc.
I wonder if the OP means just storage or a seasonal pitch?
If they mean a seasonal pitch then £10 a week doubtful.
The fact its a 5 berth is meaningless when it comes to caravan size. I remember 5 berth vans that were 10ft long. A marvel in compactness. With a toilet and cooker etc not just a tiny shell like the freedom vans.
Double seats at the front and cooker/sink opposite, bathroom in the rear corner with a fold out double and bunk on top.
But there again you get get 2 berth vans that are over 20ft long.
Thanks all for the replies - just to clairify, I was just talking about storage of the van and not a seasonal pitch. We like the idea of hooking the van up and travelling around trying new places, so just looking at storage prices for in between trips away. Glad to see I was being realistic in my estimates, and thanks for putting our minds at rest!
