We are considering changing our current van for a Lunar Delta TI 2014 which we have seen on sale. I wonder if anyone has one of these and what your thoughts are on it. We require some extra room now as we take the grandchildren away and we also like the idea of not having to climb over one another to use the loo in the night! I would love to hear if anyone has anything good or bad to say.

Our first van was a Lunar, purchased 18 months old from a dealer. Absolutely loved it, no probs, but decided to change it because we wanted a different layout.
Imagine our horror when we arrived at a different dealer to collect a Bailey; they inspected the Lunar and showed us we had 100% damp from behind the shower all the way along the floor to under the bed. Given we'd had a service three months earlier with a clean bill of health (from a NCC approved place) we were horrified to say the least.
However, the value of having spent £25 to transfer the warranty cannot be overstated, nor can the professionalism and incredible service from Ropers at Catterick. They honoured the deal we had done with them saying they could get all the repair work done under warranty and the only inconvenience to them would be a few weeks wait until they could put the Lunar up for sale.

It must be remembered that if any one upfront needs the loo during the night they need to pass through the bedroom area. What about where they sleep? If in front this means retiring to bed early or having grand kids sleeping on the island bed and then moving them when you go to bed.
IMHO the Delta is a two berth caravan meant for couples. You would be better off with a layout where the bathroom is in the middle and the kids bunks are at the back. Alternatively the kids sleep in the awning.
We have a 2011 Lunar Delta Ti which we bought just over two years ago. We love it!! We have toured with it in the UK and driven it down to Spain for the last two years. It is our first twin axle and although heavier than our previous van it is very stable when towing. We have had a motor mover put on it as it is is difficult to manoeuvre without one, especially into a tight space.
We have two teenage boys who can sleep in the lounge area as two singles without having to make it up into a bed. My husband is 6'2" and his feet do hang over the end of the bed so if I want to get to the loo in the middle of the night I give them a tickle to get past :)

We had a 120w solar panel added to our 2011 Delta TI, upgraded the ALDE control panel to a Touchscreen and upgraded the MTPLM to the maximum of 1800kg.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
