I have a 2003 Compass Omega. I noticed that the water was pouring out of the filter housing although some water was still coming out of the taps.
I was told that the filter housing was the problem, so I changed it for a new Truma ultraflow. On my very next trip I found the problem is still there.
Plenty of water comes out of the taps, but it's still pouring out around the new connecter of the water pump.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If it is around where the pump pipe plugs in it will be the rubber O rings on it need replacing.

Hi birdman, thanks for reply.
I will check the O ring, but as I bought a brand new unit, I wouldn't have looked at that, and it would be quite a coincidence if the same problem was on both my old unit and my new one. anyway I will check it out.
thanks

As the problem still exists after replacing the housing then it is likely to be a defective non return valve creating back pressure. If the Hot water tank is a Carver Cascade MKII then it's a common problem. However, do you have any manuals to tell you what hot water tank is installed?
If it's a Truma it will be different to the older type Carver Cascade system.

Hi tango, thanks for reply. The hot water tank is a Truma Ultrastore Rapid.
Should I still be looking at the non return valve?, and is it an easy fix?
cheers

There is a non return valve somewhere on the Truma Ultrastore system but not familiar with it although it's the same as the tank I have in my caravan. My previous two caravans had the Carver Cascade MKII and changed the non return valve on both that's how I gained the knowledge and experience on this model.
However, it looks like there are several different types of non return valve for the Ultrastore, some with push fitting etc. so you need to conduct a Google search for 'Ultrastore non return valve' then look at the various fittings and pipe diameter etc. then have a look at the pipe system near the Truma Ultrastore hot water tank in the caravan to identify the part you need.

The non return valve seizes up after time especially after several winters which they are either jammed open or closed. If it's jammed open then you have difficulty pressurising the water system as it doesn't shut off when the system is full. If it's jammed closed it doesn't allow water in which then creates back pressure at the water inlet.
You need to drain the water from the system to replace the non return valve which is the best thing to do, then remove it and take it to a caravan accessory shop which they will provide you with an identical replacement. The non return valve on the Cascade model are no different because it fits directly on to the tank whereas it looks like the Truma one fits into the cold water pipe line.
Good luck, hope you get it fixed and re-post whether the problem has been fixed or not.

Thanks again for your reply.
I have accepted that it is probably the valve, so have ordered one off ebay, but won't be able to fit it yet as I am away next week (without the caravan) so hope to do it soon after I get back. Will post the results when done
cheers
