in in the market for a new fridge what i want to know is can i do a straight replacement for my thetford fridge to a domitec as i believe they are a better fridge..
You'll need to know the dimensions and if your fridge is an over the wheel type. Even though I bought the correct replacement I had to use longer screws and fitting into a batten to stop movement. Because mine is an over the wheel arch type I also had to support the back of the fridge. I was happy with my old fridge, until it died after 16 years, but my new one is even better its a Dometic (ex Electrolux) never had a Thetford so can't comment except that the electrics and gas fitting will be similar. I'd leave the gas fitting to a qualified person but the removal and fitting is straightforward. Not cheap items - I paid around £550 for mine but that excludes fitting.
