Hi guys , i am off on me holls next monday just for 3 nights i would like to know can i put laptops & mobile phones in the caravans sockets?

If you are on electric hook up then yes. If off grid then no. You can charge phones and tablets from a 12v car charger and laptop you would probably need an inverter.

I have a 12v laptop charger. Inverters are wasteful.

Convert 12v DC to mains AC then back to 19v (ish) DC is a waste.

DC to DC converter is far more efficient.

Mine is variable from 12v to 24v on the output with 12v on the input.

Yes, we have a 12V laptop charger (you can get universal ones with interchangeable plug ends) as you say make much more sense. note that depending on the laptop, this can put a fair current draw on the battery, 100W is about 8 amps we've got older laptops around here where the psu is rated at 90W (though the more recent ones use less)

For connecting 12V phone chargers etc. the easiest thing is to use a 12V plug to cigar lighter socket lead

Probably belongs to a few forums where they totally ban text speak.

R U and Y do. Its poor forum etiquette and frowned upon on some forums more than others.

I belong to a couple that will give you a warning for your 1st post and you will be logged out for good with the 2nd and IP banned.

Banning of IPs rarely works. Far too many ways around it.

Must admit forums have made me lazy and correct punctuation has gone out the window.

Why do you need inverters or anything else, I've got a simple plug that that's got a usb socket in it that plugs into the ordinary plug socket.ive now changed the normal socket with 2 usb sockets built in

Because years ago when we had older type mobile phones we all had to type out each letter on individual buttons which was not only time consuming but got charged for each letter so people reduced their text to save time and money. All modern phones now have a keyboard which saves time regarding typing thus not needing to type short text anymore so basically there's no constructive excuse for it apart from being a bad habit.
I 4 1 8 it.
