Has anyone puchased and used an aguri sat nav ? I am looking for a sat nav for a motorhome as the tom tom I have sends us down some scary B roads. The aguri sat nav with a built in dash cam sounds great but at just short of £300 I just wanted to get an opinion from someone who has used one.

I bought one a few years back and sent it back, found it very poor quality and appeared flimsy with an oversized bracket. We currently use a Snooper system but always check out our route with maps and never totally rely on the sat nav.

Iv got a tomtom and was contemplating the same question actually - been stuck down some really dodgy narrow back lanes with a trailer on (stuck to the extent had to unhook the camping trailer - 15 point turn - then hook trailer back up to head back. We are buying our first caravan this year - wont be able to do the same, so REALLY worried about the sat nav!

If you are that worried then use a map. Try it. It's easy & you can avoid roads that look unsuitable. Worked for me in 40yrs of truck driving.

Recently got a Garmin Camper ... pricey ... lots is very good ... but still worth checking against maps ...
Not had it long enough to really sus it on multiple routes ... you input your rig size, and it, supposedly, provides optimum/safe routing ... I didn't get sent down any 'dodgy' roads ... but some reviews claim that it has done so. It does come with free life maps updates, so, maybe, the most recent one is better than previous? It is so much clearer than the VW one ... great pics of motorway exits showing exactly the same roadsigns/lanes etc (as pictures) ... ditched the inbuilt VW sat nav ... lousy and dangerous (wanted to send me into a two lane one way highway, late at night ... the wrong way!), got lost in several towns, sent me to incorrect destinations for major shops (eg Decathlon) and has very misleading verbal instructions ... grrrrr .... and that was after their most recent update version!

Last weekend we took our swift basecamp on its first trip to hawkshead in the lakes ..twat nav worked fine till we got to newby bridge then it started taking us down the narrow back roads ..thank the Lord we only met one car and they reversed so we could pass ...as we got into hawkshead the damm thing sent me up a lane where I was confronted by 3 land rovers ..I had no choice but to reverse .....took me quiet a few goes ....got to the site eventually but next day bought a bloody good road map ...I shall be planning my journey on the map In future 👍

We've got a Tom Tom camper/motorhome version. It's never let us down. You can tell it you're driving a motorhome or car and it'll presumably adjust the directions accordingly.
