Hi everyone
I have today been to my storage yard,to fit the alko jack brackets on my bailey ranger 460/2.

The nearside bracket went on pretty easily,a little tight next to a hose of some sort running accross the axle, but went on ok.

The offside was the problem one, i managed to get it finger tightly attached despite the waste pipes being in the way, but the top part that sits on the bottom of the van ,wont fit flush due to a floor vent which seems to be directly under the fridge.

Have done a bit of searching online and seems a few people have run into problems on certain vans, one solution i read was hacksawing a section of the top off so it doesnt interfere with the vent. As the top part of the bracket doesnt actually attach to the van, do you think this will be ok to do ??
Any advice eould be appreciated
Thanks
Dave

Which brackets do you have?

Some are angled at the top to attach to the floor etc.

Mine are like yours - they bolt together on either side of the chassis, but not to the floor.

Not sure why there is this section against the floor, since they don't provide any support to the floor in normal running.

Still, I don't think I would start cutting bits off. It would be easier and quicker to drill a new drop vent for the fridge, wouldn't it?

Yeah seems strange the bracket is designed like that
Would be easier for me to modify the bracket tbh as i work in a sheet metal factory, would only need half inch or so off. Would feel more comfortable doing that then drill into floor of van

I had to remove a small section of the bracket when fitting to a previous bailey due to a bolier drain pipe position.

Took 5 minutes and doesn’t affect the bracket as it’s the vertical section and the bolts which carry the load when jacking.
