hi,forgive my ignorance, but does a car nose weight limit take into account any luggage or passengers and what effect this might have any thoughts, thanks
Noseweight is the weight put on the tow bar up to the cars limit, however it needs to be included in the cars payload, which also includes passengers, luggage etc and plated limits, GVW / axel weights.
The max towbar imposed load ie noseweight must not be exceeded but you also need to ensure you do not overload rear axle of car. This could happen if in addition to a caravan imposing max weight on towbar you had very heavy items in boot & a number of heavy passengers on rear seat.
If your car/caravan outfit is heavily laden up to near it's limit then you need to run it over an axle weigher to ensure you are within legal axle weights. Car front/rear axle weights are indicated on plate under bonnet & caravan max axle weight as hitched to car is the mtplm weight.
