Hi folks, I have been a member of the Camping and Caravan Club for three years now ! Is it worth me joining the Caravan Club as well what are your thoughts ? TIA
Any specific reason why you want to be in both clubs?
We used to be members of the Camping & Caravanning Club and found it handy for having rallies being run all over the UK so there's always somewhere to go whereas the Caravan & Motorhome Club don't operate the same options but we found that the CL's were better.
We are C&CC members, and perfectly happy with our membership. However, we don't always use their sites, as they don't always have one where we want to go. If we want to go where there isn't a C&CC site, we just use a private one. With regard to CSs, the ones we have used have been absolutely fine, and I can't imagine CLs being any better.
Is it worth belonging to both clubs? For me personally, no, but others may think differently. It's all a matter of personal preference really, there is no right or wrong answer.
No not unless you enjoy members money being wasted on unnecessary name changes I firmly believe both clubs have completely lost their way regarding their basic members
We are members of both clubs because our two favourite sites are camc and c&cc Wirral and Delamere we find we have more choice with being members of both clubs. If we did not get the age concession we would not be in the c&cc as we find the sites very expensive compared to camc.
We’re in both. We use Club sites in both. We like electricity but not bothered about toilets and showers and, having a motorhome, we like to be close to either somewhere to walk to or a bus stop.
We use the CCC for tunnel crossings and overseas winter rallies and CAMC for insurances.
We get something out of both clubs and definitely save what we pay out in subs but it’s horses for courses and you need to weigh up whether you’ll use them for anything other than site fees. If not, it probably isn’t worth joining.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I’m a member of both and if you asked me to pick the one I like best I’m not sure I could .
One year we tend to use c&cc sites and also the rally in the Netherlands .
Also use the cmc for insurance and break down cover . Then sites and CLs we also like and use .
Maybe join both for two years and then decide.
We're in both as we have favourite sites run by both clubs and like the choice of CLs and CSs it gives us. We also use the CAMC for ferry crossings and use their Red Pennant annual insurance. The CCC age concession is really good to have and we tend to use the main club sites late and early season (when they are more affordable) as we caravan all year round. Whether it is worth it for you probably depends on how and when you caravan/camp.
Just in CCC as like the CS sites never really used the club sites, or DA rally's to be honest.
I have to be honest, have had the same thought shall i join both?

Nora, are you going to the Delft rally that starts in March? We’ll be there for two weeks.
