Off to SECC tomorrow to pick an awning, last big purchase. Bit surprised at the cost spread from 200-1200 for what looks like the same thing. Is there a brand that's good value ?

Never bought a new awning always gone for pre-loved. At the moment we have an air awning, Outwell Pacific. It was just over a year old and got it for a third of the new price. Private sale bargain.
Do you want a full awning or a porch?
Do you want to keep it up for a season or is it coming down every couple of days?
Do you want it lightweight or heavier?
Do you want it to last for years or just a couple of seasons?
Inflatable or pole?
They are not all the same thing at all.
Our awning is German made, DWT Zelt, we purchased it 12 years ago for £850 (now well over a £1,000), roof is coated polyester, the walls are woven acrylic, no condensation or leaks, no fading, very well made, double mud walling (one part goes inside with the groundsheet on top the other goes on the outside), steel poles and with storm straps on it does well in strong winds. It was purchased for our last caravan and it now fits our new one.
or you could get a porch, we use it for short breaks and winter, just for muddy boots, wet coats, bikes etc.
Isabella around £850
Isabella are a top quality brand at a price, DWT is as good, a lot are made in China.
Thanks for the info, really helpful, porch & air is our aim, got an air beam tent we love, (apart from the weight)we looked at them all, top of the shortlist is the pebble 360a, they are 20% off list with a free electric pump or (footprint in our case, already have two pumps) it’s a perfect size to leave the back bedroom window still getting light. Buying second hand in Scotland isn’t easy, smaller population not much choice

Hi ive got a size 1068 ventura awning bought a newer model van and need a 1100 but fitted my awning on but just short at 1 end and like to know if i added a annex to it and would it stay up and could i add anything onto it to help pls can any1 help me thanks
You could get the awning adapted to fit the new caravan, have a look for a local awning repairer who could do this or get in touch with the manufacturer who may be able to suggest somebody.
