Please does anybody have a key number for me to order a new key for the side box with the water pump and battery in,mine has snapped and was just a copy hence no number,my van is a 1999 640 lux if it makes any difference.Please help Im sick of running back and to with bottles to the water tap

I think you will find that for that year of caravan, it would be 1 of 200 keys. Your best bet may be to call in to a dealer, who should be able to open the door with his pass key, and then buy a new lock complete with two keys.

You can get it out by buying a pack of scrolling hack saw blades...

Break off a piece of the blade from the tip to say just after the blade part begins.Or a wee bit more if you fancy it.

Now slide it in to the thin side of the lock,the bit where your key turns the tumblers on the lock.

Gently turn the blade inside the lock to you feel resistance and pull out.Hope this helps let us know how you get on.

Ps forgot to add,the blade faces the rough part on the key so that it grabs the key.

reading o.p. post ,I don't think he means the key is still in the lock.
as said a dealer will open it for you.

Take a bit of force if it was not in the lock to break it also.like the op has said,the part he has, has no serial number on it as it was a copy.

sorry lost internet,Im on a permanent pitch,can't empty the toilet or anything ,was hopng someone may have or know someone with a 1999 swift conqueror so that I can get the key number off them,thanks for your ideas,Julie

Hi Julie, to the best of my knowledge, the key numbers for your caravan have a range between WD001 and WD200, so in reality, getting someone else's number may not be of any benefit to you.

Maybe Swift have a record of the key/lock number fitted to your van at time of manufacture?

Failing that it may be time to get a locksmith out?
