I have just realised I do not have a jack that could lift my caravan in case of puncture.
Do you know if Green Flag vehicles carry these special jacks?
I phoned them and was told they do but the person I spoke to asked if my battery was flat now then admitted they were not familiar with Caravans!
I
No, they would use a trolley jack. I would like to say in the right place at the axle end where the double support is but I have heard of them jacking elsewhere.
Hi, I am sure they would cope as they operate Mayday on behalf of the caravan club. Which I use as my breakdown cover, have used them twice admittedly only when solo and couldn't fault them. I had been green flag customer for years then found Mayday was better cover for less than I was paying direct to green flag. Certainly makes being caravan club member worth it.
Hi, With may day you get double journey cover, if you breakdown on your way to a pre-booked site for holiday if your car can't be fixed they will pick you up and take you home again after the holiday. I think that is the difference..
I have a proper alco jack but it is not easy to use so I carry a trolley jack as well. I have the jacks and a set of hi viz clothing in the external locker so I can get to it easily if I need it.
I'm sure any decent mechanic would have a suitable trolley jack with him.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
