Washing up liquid has a lot of salt dissolved in it so would need a good rinse especially from metal areas, other than that I don't see a big problem. I'd rather use something specifically designed for the job tho.

Ah well.
I see lots of products which are specially 'Marketed' for the job, but I have no way of knowing if the design work goes any further than the label & advertising.
