It will be cheaper, but better? not sure on that one.
I mean for starters the bio washing liquid will do nothing about the germs in the actual bowl, so they will be thriving (the "bio" in bio washing liquid is a protean that breaks down stains, not kill germs)
Also because the flush tank has nothing but water in, that also means that any germs on the inside of the bowl will also not be getting killed, and again will be thriving.
But hey, if it works for you then go for it.
