After much deliberation I am planning to sell my current van and buy a campervan.
I have a seven year old Adria Altea 542DT (triple bunks) which has only been used a couple of times a year, with new tyres this year and a full length awning.
It's in really good condition (we have dogs so the seats have always been covered) but I'm not sure what it is worth.
When I was trying to obtain an insurance quote for my caravan this week, one of the questions was how much my caravan was worth. I hadn't got a clue as dealers use the Glass's guide for touring caravans valued up to 10 years I believe which people like us don't have access to. I was told that the quotation could not proceed without the value so asked how I could find out and their answer was to contact one of the major clubs for information. As I am a current member of the Caravan & Motorhome Club I phoned them and they gave me the information I needed but whether they will assist for non members I'm not sure but it may be worth giving them a call to see if they can provide the current value of your seven year old Adria Altea.
Hi try searching caravan finder for your model, and see what price they are. Advertised at. You will need to price lower than a dealer as you don't have to provide any warranty.
Go to a local dealer, say you want to buy a new caravan and ask how much for the trade in. That gives a good idea of value.
Can you trade it in against the motor home?
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
