When I park up I am having Problems lifting the hitch handle to release the van I have tried to adjust van position to no avail have had to slide a bar into hitchlock to obtain extra leveridge
------------- If at first you don't succeed, try try again.
Hey-ho, so much for sky-diving.
We sometimes just release the car handbrake momentarily (not on a steep hill!), or alternatively just move the car slightly forward with the caravan handbrake on. Always seems to free the hitch for easy lifting.
the only time we have problems is if we forget to pull forward after reversing, by pulling forward I mean that the car moves forward enough to move the tow hitch, but the actual caravan stays in exactly the same position
the only other reason I could suggest is that you have the wrong towball on the car
If you have the Alko stabiliser hitch it may be that when you raise the handle the side pads are not releasing. These are each held in place with rubber O rings. If these are split the pads are not pulled back off the towball, when handle is raised.
