i have found hundreds of tiny bubbles appearing on the paintwork on the front of my van, never encountered anything like this before....????

Hi Rob, you don't say how old your van is or what the front is constructed of or where the bubbles are mostly located. If aluminium it could be rot coming from the rear of the panel.

It sounds like the front has been painted at some point and solvent pops are turning into micro blisters
