Hi everyone, looking for some advice please.Im going to upgrade my existing Crystal MK3 inlet housing with the truma ultraflow, but am now undecided whether to go for the compact without filter or the standard filter version.Any advice recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

My 2004 caravan had the existing Crystal water inlet which I had changed for the Truma Ultraflow by the dealer before collection. However, I don't bother with a filter because they are more trouble than they are worth. If they are not removed during drain down for winter, any remaining water left inside will freeze (if temperatures plummet below zero) which can cause plastic components to crack due to ice expansion. A water filter has no real benefit as far as I'm concerned so is an extra unnecessary cost of replacement periodically.
I replaced my leaking Crystal Housing with a Utraflow kit with carbon filter, used the filter that was supplied with the kit then binned it and have never used a new filter since. Way to expensive and Truma advise to fit a new filter after every thirty day`s use, yes good money for them. Must be about five years since I fitted the kit which works very well.
