Just before New Year we used the Motor mover, (MM), to take our caravan out of storage without any problems.
Arrived on site but the MM worked intermittently, and only when I was near where the controls where in the caravan. As per instructions, I changed the 9v battery in the remote control. This seemed quite warm. Tried it on site, but still only working intermittently and when close to the controls.
We decide to cut short our visit, return home on New Year's day, and asked relatives to be on stand by, in case we need to push the van back into storage. No need. the MM worked perfectly.
I asked our neighbour, an Auto Electrician, to check both batteries and both were A1.
Phoned Powrtouch, and spoke to a very helpful bloke, who explained that nearby radio/mobile masts, (he checked an on-line map), were interfering with the radio signals of our MM remote.
The only remedy is to get as near as possible to the on board MM controls. This is a problem Powrtouch has experienced before.
Sorry to ramble on, but I hope this info may be of some use to people.

I had a cable supplied with my Powertouch which plugged in to the handset and the control box to overcome any interference problems.

Always get some strange behavior from my Powertouch Evolution and its predecessor also an Evolution at certain pitches at Edinburgh CAMC site and Forfar CAMC site - I always assume it is this. No issues with the Reich that came before so must be the frequency Powertouc use. Also no issues on other pitches on the same sites.

2.4b UMBILICAL CABLE
If a spare or new battery is not available then the system can be used with the umbilical cable
that will provide the necessary power to the handset. To connect the cable firstly remove the
blanking plug (small plastic cover) on the top of the handset to reveal a female jack plug
socket, one end of the cable should be connected (plugged in) to this socket. The second
female jack plug socket is situated under the hinged cover on the ECB - to locate the correct
socket see diagram in Section 3 Paragraph 3.7 Electrical Assembly. Once these connections
are made you should switch on the Powrtouch by inserting the isolation key into the isolation
switch and turning clockwise.

we owned a house on the Greek Isand of Ithaca above the village of Stavros in the middle of nowhere for a number of years and we had a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2.....We parked on a lane running to the house without any issues until the greek power company decided to update the antique electricity power supplies and in doing so installed a pole mounted transformer right next to our car parking spot..From that day on the engine management light would come on when the ignition was switched on and on the odd occasion the car would not start...We contacted the power company but our complaints fell on deaf ears ( greek bureaucracy etc ) So we started parking in a neighbours field away from the power pole and never had any further problems with the car...So I have no doubt that your motor mover electronics are being affected by the radio masts or power lines etc

Ours must be a different model. There is no blanking plug on the remote. It looks like a blanking plug, but it is part of the moulding and cannot be unscrewed.
It is here in front of me.

We are off to Edinburgh in May. Although our MM is a different make, forewarned is forearmed! Thank you.
