Yes things do come down after a while. I remember back in the 1970s seeing the first VCRs come on the market, and they were retailing at around £1,000 to £1,500! You could buy a decent new car for that! The last one I bought, just before they went off the market cost me £25 in Asda.

Colin

"mostly due to all those nuts mining for Bitcoin".

i am one of those nuts francais.. my mining machines (left over from 2017) are currently earning me around $600 a month and nicely heating my upstairs bedrooms at the same time.. they will soon pay for my "early adopter" lithium batteries.. :)

Yep, Trog100, I kinda guessed that you might be mining for Bitcoin, it was the graphics card comment that gave it away.
Good luck, with Bitcoin, somehow I think you are going to need it.

yep.. all my mining stuff was bought and paid for three or four years back.. crypto went up and then back down.. its now gone up again.. i did hang on to all of mine..

but i still think the covid thing is more than a blip and the old idea of things getting cheaper as time goes by has changed.. i see things going the other way from now on in..

the next few months should tell us one way or another.. i just hope the travel restrictions ease off during the summer so that i can actually use my caravan again..

best of luck

trog

Yep trog, letís hope travel can happen, we are booked on a campsite down at Frejus for the end of June, but I am not holding my breath.

What will be, will be.

We will have to agree to disagree on things getting cheaper as time goes on especially LiFeP04 drop in replacement leisure batteries.

Best of luck to me and you both, and everyone else on this forum.

Having been on 100% furlough for the best part of a year now, nothing can surprise me, and if I have a job to go back to at the end of all this it will be a bonus, I have been in the same job for the last 16 years, so it would be a jip if COVID-19 brings it to an end, as at the age of 60, the thought of looking for another job is something I would rather not think about.
